Starbucks to Celebrate 25th Anniversary Milestone in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, June 5, 2012 /CNW/ - In 1987, Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ:SBUX) opened its first store outside of the U.S. at the Seabus Terminal in Vancouver, Canada. Success in Canada demonstrated that the company had the opportunity to establish a global footprint of stores, which ultimately evolved into more than 17,000 stores in 59 countries worldwide. On June 7th, Howard Schultz, Starbucks chairman, president and chief executive officer, along with Mayor Gregor Robertson, will join Starbucks partners (employees), customers and the Vancouver community to commemorate the anniversary.
