Starlight Capital Expands Investment Management Team
TORONTO, Nov. 6, 2018 /CNW/ - Starlight Investments Capital LP ("Starlight Capital") is pleased to announce the expansion of its portfolio management team with the addition of two new investment managers, Varun Anand and Michelle Wearing.
Portfolio Manager, Varun Anand has more than eight years of experience in the financial services industry, primarily focused on managing publicly listed, global infrastructure investments. Varun joins Starlight Capital from CI Signature, where the infrastructure team oversaw more than $5 billion in securities across several mandates. Prior to CI Signature, Varun was a Senior Research Analyst at Sentry Investments for four years focusing on the Sentry Global Infrastructure mandate, which exceeded $800 million in assets. He began his career in the financial services industry with Veritas Investment Research, an independent equity research company. Varun holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Business Administration with honours from the University of Waterloo. He has held the Chartered Financial Analyst designation since 2012.
Associate Portfolio Manager, Michelle Wearing has over nine years of business and investment experience, primarily in real estate. Michelle joins the team from TD Securities Inc., where she served as an Equity Research Associate covering Canadian REITs and REOCs. There she gained considerable research experience covering over 30 names across various sectors, including commercial property, multi-family, hospitality, seniors' housing, and asset managers. Prior to TD Securities Inc., Michelle was a Manager in Valuations at KPMG LLP and held various other positions in Valuations and Consumer Markets. Michelle is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator and earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University in 2009.
