Starlight Investments Launches Starlight Capital, its Newly Formed Real Estate Securities Platform with Addition of Dennis Mitchell

TORONTO, March 19, 2018 /CNW/ - Daniel Drimmer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Starlight Investments ("Starlight") is pleased to announce the launch of Starlight Capital and the appointment of Dennis Mitchell as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of the newly formed real estate securities investment platform. Starlight Capital will focus on investing in global real estate securities on an active basis and will offer a range of publicly listed and private real estate investment products and portfolio management services.  In addition, Starlight Capital will be involved in investment solutions which will combine the real estate securities investment expertise of the Starlight Capital platform with Starlight Investments' existing North American real estate asset management platform focused on Canadian multi-family, United States multi-family and Canadian commercial properties. Starlight Capital will be pursuing necessary regulatory registrations and expects to launch its first fund for investment shortly.

During the course of his career, Mr. Mitchell has managed investment capital in excess of $3 billion.  Mr. Mitchell has spent over 15 years in the investment industry, most recently at Sprott Asset Management, where he served as Senior Vice-President and Senior Portfolio Manager of several new and existing funds. He has also served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Sentry Investments where he oversaw the firm's investment management team and investment funds totaling over $18 billion.

Mr. Mitchell received the Brendan Wood International Canadian TopGun Award in 2009, 2010, and 2011 and the Brendan Wood International 2012 Canadian TopGun Team Leader Award. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University in 2002 and an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1998. His strong leadership and industry expertise will complement the forward thinking, entrepreneurial and dynamic team at Starlight Investments.

With over 15 years in the asset management industry, Mr. Llewellyn has most recently served as Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Sentry Investments. Graeme holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation and earned a Bachelor of commerce degree from the Rotman Commerce Program at the University of Toronto.
