Iconic Canadian company partners with The Hollywood Reporter for expanded presence at festival
TORONTO, Sept. 8, 2016 /CNW/ - As the Official Fashion Retailer and Official Red Carpet Sponsor, Hudson's Bay's signature stripes will take over the red carpets at three key Toronto International Film Festival® venues for the sixth year in a row. From Thursday, Sept. 8th to Sunday, Sept. 18th, the stars will walk the striped carpet at Roy Thomson Hall, TIFF Bell Lightbox and the Ryerson Theatre. Beyond the red carpet, Hudson's Bay is teaming up with entertainment news leader, The Hollywood Reporter for the first time at the festival.
"As Canada's leading department store, we are proud to be an official sponsor of the Toronto International Film Festival – it is truly one of our favourite times of the year", said Liz Rodbell, President, Hudson's Bay. "TIFF continues to solidify the city as a worldwide cultural capital, and as always, we are excited to see the stars grace our signature striped carpets throughout the festival."
"We are excited to partner with iconic Canadian company Hudson's Bay for our 41st Festival," said Michèle Maheux, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer for TIFF. "We are grateful for their continued support and look forward to celebrating fashion, film and culture on the red carpets and across the festival."
Hudson's Bay x The Hollywood Reporter
From Sept. 9th to 13th, talent visiting The Hollywood Reporter Studio at Brasaii will get the star treatment courtesy of Hudson's Bay. In addition to receiving an HBC Collection gift bag, visiting talent can sit back and relax in a custom designed lounge complete with furniture inspired by the retailer's iconic point blanket.
All eyes on #starsonstripes
"Nothing brings out the glitz and glamour quite like a red carpet," said Suzanne Timmins, Senior Vice President and Fashion Director, Hudson's Bay. "A super chic pant suit will make a winning statement and is so on point for fall worn with a cami, corset or nothing at all for that feminine twist. Exposed shoulders, glittery fabrics and plunging necklines are key dress details that we will see gracing the red carpet. Whether you choose the sexy pant suit or a fabulous gown, Hudson's Bay is the ultimate destination to shop all the TIFF worthy trends."
As the Official Red Carpet Sponsor, "Stars on Stripes" daily press alerts rounds up the best-dressed looks, as talent take to the Hudson's Bay iconic striped carpets at this year's Festival.
Get the celebrity treatment at the Hudson's Bay TIFF Lounge
Stars won't be the only ones who get to indulge in the TIFF experience, as Hudson's Bay unveils an exciting in-store lounge located at the retailer's downtown flagship store. Customers are invited to get red-carpet ready with makeup touch-ups before strutting the striped carpet in the Hudson's Bay TIFF Lounge GIF booth. Style snaps taken in the booth over the 10 day festival will contribute to the #starsonstripes social media feed, and users can share their Red Carpet experience on their personal social channels. The lounge also gives visitors a chance to catch up on celebrity news with a complimentary issue of The Hollywood Reporter.
Join #starsonstripes with a shoefie
For the second year in a row, Hudson's Bay launches its #starsonstripes social contest around the city of Toronto from Sept. 8th to 13th. Modelled after the iconic Official Striped Red Carpets, decaled carpets in 25 key locations in the downtown core allow passersby to take a "shoefie" on the striped carpet and enter a contest to win two Hudson's Bay fashion gift cards and two tickets to the closing night premiere screening of The Edge of Seventeen. Users can enter the contest by posting their "shoefie" with the hashtag #starsonstripes and following @hudsonsbay on Instagram and Twitter.
