Third annual Startup Fashion Week runs Oct. 3 – 7
TORONTO, Sept. 22, 2016 /CNW/ - With a focus on fashion, business and technology, Toronto's Startup Fashion Week (SFW) will return Oct. 3 to 7 to celebrate and showcase local and international industry startups and professionals.
The highly successful five-day event provides a platform for emerging designers and fashion-tech startups to increase visibility through networking events, conferences and a prestigious runway show. Now in its third year, SFW continues to revolutionize the Fashion Week business model through unique programming and educational opportunities that attract prominent industry professionals as keynote guests.
This year, SFW is proud to present fashion authority Barbara Atkin, former vice-president of Fashion Direction at Holt Renfrew, as the keynote speaker for The Business of Fashion Conference on Oct. 4. Atkin will share insights and expertise on Global Trends in the 21st Century and their Impact on our Future.

Previous sold-out success of the runway show has sparked interest worldwide; this year, SFW will feature startups from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, San Francisco, San Antonio and Australia.
"We have a huge demand for our clothing from Canadian customers," says Annie Legoe, co-founder of Australian brand LEGOE. "We wanted to participate in Startup Fashion Week to increase our brand awareness in Canada and hopefully get the label stocked there for our wonderful Canadian customers." The LEGOE maternity collection will be featured on the SFW runway Oct. 7 at 99 Sudbury.
