OTTAWA, June 23, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Canada's Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and the Honourable Ahmed D. Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, made the following statement today:
"We are pleased to welcome our counterparts and representatives from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States to Ottawa on June 26-27 for meetings of the Five Country Ministerial and Quintet of Attorneys General.
Together, these meetings will offer an opportunity to continue and build on our strong cooperation with international partners on shared concerns to enhance safety and security, and to protect rights and freedoms, in Canada and abroad. We will have the chance to share views on common challenges faced by our similar justice systems, global refugee and migration issues, and national security."
These meetings are closed to media representatives due to security measures.
