Statement - From Canadian Paralympic Committee President, Dr. Gaetan Tardif on future Olympic & Paralympic Bid Français
OTTAWA, July 25, 2015 /CNW/ - "Over the past weeks, we have seen the City of Toronto shine as it hosted the Pan American Games. We saw a vibrant community open its doors to some of the world's best athletes and celebrate the Canadian Team's achievements while generating national pride across the country. The city of Toronto has proved to all of us that its citizens, infrastructure, organizers and leaders are world-class when it comes to hosting a multi-sport Games. We gratefully thank you for your ongoing support as the Games continue and our Parapan Am athletes get set to compete starting August 7th. These games will be the largest Paralympic sport event Canada has ever hosted and an important milestone towards Rio 2016.
Today, we join our partner, the Canadian Olympic Committee and its President Marcel Aubut, and stand tall in declaring that Toronto has proven that they can host a successful Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games. As such, we will support future plans in pursuing a candidacy for the city of Toronto to host an Olympic and Paralympic Games." – Dr. Gaetan Tardif, President of the Canadian Paralympic Committee
