Statement - Minister Bennett Congratulates Newly Elected Officials of the Indigenous Peoples Assembly of Canada Français
OTTAWA, Oct 3, 2016 /CNW/ - The Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, Carolyn Bennett, issued the following statement today:
"Congratulations and best wishes to newly elected IPAC President Robert Bertrand.
Robert has long been an advocate for Indigenous people in Canada. As President, he will bring a strong voice and a clear vision to IPAC.
I would also like to offer my sincere thanks to Dwight Dorey for his dedication and many years of great work as President of IPAC. Dwight has worked with unwavering commitment to advance Indigenous issues. I'm sure he will bring the same spirit and dedication to his future projects.
We know there is much work to be done on our collective journey of reconciliation. It will require innovative approaches and working in full partnership to map the way forward together. I look forward to achieving this important work with President Robert Bertrand and the leadership of IPAC."
