GATINEAU, QC, June 8, 2016 /CNW/ - Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and Jim Carr, Minister of Natural Resources, today congratulated the Government of Ontario on releasing its climate change action plan.
"With today's announcement of its climate change action plan, the Government of Ontario is rising to the challenge and demonstrating real leadership. This action plan covers a wide range of initiatives that show that tackling climate change and growing a cleaner economy can go hand in hand.
"This action plan shows how taking concrete steps can make a real difference and set the stage for a low-carbon future that will benefit all Canadians and future generations.
"Canadian provinces and territories have been early leaders in addressing climate change and this announcement keeps this momentum going. Building on the good work they have begun, we will continue to work together to develop our Canadian plan to address climate change and create new jobs and opportunities in clean technology and innovation."
