Statement - Minister Philpott congratulates the Huron-Wendat Nation Council on opening its new sports complex in Wendake Français
WENDAKE, QC, April 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Indigenous Services, issued the following statement:
"I would like to congratulate the Huron-Wendat Nation Council on inaugurating the Wendake sports complex on March 30. The Government of Canada is proud to have invested more than $4.6 million in this project, which contributes to the social and economic development of Wendake and the greater Quebec City area.
I would also like to congratulate all those involved in the construction of the sports complex for their tremendous work. Let's remember that the official ground breaking, marking the beginning of the work, took place in June 2017 and that citizens already have access to modern and functional sports infrastructures.
Thanks to their new sports complex, Wendake families will have access to a gathering place as well as to a range of sports and leisure services that meet their needs, which will encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles."
