Statement by Honda Canada Regarding Brake Booster Recall: 2006-2007 Honda S2000 and 2006 Acura RSX

MARKHAM, ON, June 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Honda Canada will recall 130 Honda S2000 vehicles from the 2006-2007 model years and 649 Acura RSX vehicles from the 2006 model year in Canada to inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake booster in these vehicles. A production error may have allowed brake booster components to be produced outside of the original specifications, potentially causing decreased brake assistance over time. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through warranty repairs in Japan.

Honda is announcing this recall to encourage owners of all affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda Canada. Mailed notification to customers will be sent in mid-July 2013. In addition to contacting customers by mail, owners of these vehicles will be able to determine if their vehicles require repair by going on-line to www.honda.ca/recalls and www.acura.ca/recalls or by calling (888) 9HONDA9 for Honda owners or (888) 9ACURA9 for Acura owners.
