Statement by Honda Canada Regarding SRS Control Unit Recall: 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey; 2003 Acura MDX Français
- Approximately 28,000 Honda and Acura vehicles affected in Canada

MARKHAM, ON, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Honda Canada will recall approximately 23,300 Honda Odyssey vehicles from the 2003-2004 model years and approximately 4,800 Acura MDX vehicles from the 2003 model year in Canada to address potential malfunctions of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) system in these vehicles that may cause an inadvertent airbag deployment. To prevent malfunction, an electrical noise filter will be installed adjacent to the SRS control unit, free of charge.
Honda Canada received one report of an inadvertent airbag deployment. No collisions or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
Honda is announcing this recall to encourage owners of all affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda Canada. Notifications are expected to be mailed to customers beginning late October, 2013. Owners of vehicles from the affected model years will be able to determine if their vehicles require repair by going on-line to www.honda.ca/recalls and www.acura.ca/recalls or by calling (888) 9HONDA9 for Honda owners or (888) 9ACURA9 for Acura owners.
