Statement by Jean-Pierre Blais CRTC Chairman and CEO, on the passing of Mr. Louis Ralph (Bud) Sherman

OTTAWA, Jan. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - It is with regret that I learned of the passing away of Mr. Louis Ralph (Bud) Sherman.  Mr. Sherman passed away on Friday January 9, 2015 at the age of 88.  He was appointed as CRTC Commissioner in 1985 and worked for the CRTC for more than 10 years during which time he became Vice-Chairman of Telecommunications in 1987.  He held this position until his retirement in 1995.   On behalf of myself, Commissioners, colleagues, and CRTC staff, I wish to express my appreciation for his contribution and offer sincere condolences to Mr. Sherman's family and friends.
