Canadians celebrate Asian Heritage Month during the month of May
OTTAWA, May 2nd, 2019 /CNW/ - Today, we mark the beginning of Asian Heritage Month.
Every May, we honour and celebrate the invaluable contributions Canadians of Asian descent have made to our country. Asian Heritage Month is a time also learn more about the ongoing impact that Canadians of Asian descent continue to make on the growth and prosperity of Canada.
Throughout our history, Asian Canadians have achieved great success in our country. The Government of Canada's theme for Asian Heritage Month is "Asian Canadian Youth: Shaping Canada's Future." This highlights how they continue to inspire, push boundaries and innovate.
Proud of their roots throughout Asia, Asian Canadians continue to play a vital role in all sectors of our society. Whether it be in the arts, sciences, sports, business or government, they continue to help build the inclusive, compassionate and prosperous country we know today.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, I invite all Canadians to learn more about the long and rich history of Asian Canadians and their contributions to Canada.
