Tomorrow, millions of Canadians celebrate Christmas
OTTAWA, Dec. 24, 2018 /CNW/ - Today, on Christmas Eve, celebrations are taking place all across the country and around the world. Although it is an important time on the Christian calendar, Christmas is enjoyed by millions of Canadians of many different backgrounds.
Christmas traditions—including decorations at home and in the streets, trees bearing lights, and Christmas carols and markets—contribute to the magic and spirit of the holidays. Santa Claus, one of the most beloved symbols of this time of year, brings joy to children everywhere.
Beyond the celebrations, Christmas is also a time for sharing, when we to come to the aid of those in need through acts of generosity and support of all kinds. As we come together this evening and tomorrow with our loved ones, we also take time to think about those less fortunate.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, I wish all of you a very merry Christmas! I hope this time of year is filled with hope, joy and peace.
