Today, millions of people in Canada and around the world celebrate Easter
OTTAWA, April 21, 2019 /CNW/ - Today, millions of Christians in Canada and around the world gather with family and friends to celebrate Easter. Orthodox Christians will mark this important holiday, with its promise of hope and renewal, on April 28.
Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ – a story that embodies the meaning of compassion. This special occasion is a time of reflection, and a chance to spend quality time with loved ones while taking part in festivities or community gatherings. It is also an opportunity to recognize the foundational contributions Christian Canadians of all backgrounds have and continue to make in Canada.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, I wish everyone celebrating Easter a very happy holiday.
