Today, Tamils in Canada and around the world celebrate Puthandu, Tamil New Year
OTTAWA, April 14, 2019 /CNW/ - Today, we join members of the Tamil community in Canada and around the world to celebrate Puthandu, also known as Tamil New Year.
On this festive day of renewal, hope and reconciliation, families and friends gather to attend religious ceremonies, enjoy traditional meals, exchange gifts and take part in various cultural activities.
Puthandu is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn more about the culture and traditions of the Tamil community in Canada and their important contributions to our society.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, I wish everyone celebrating Puthandu happiness, health and prosperity.
Iniya Tamil Puthandu Nalvazhthukkal!
