Statement by the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), Congratulating Canadian Runners Nominated to 2012 Canadian Olympic Team

OTTAWA, April 26, 2012 /CNW/ - As Minister of State for Sport, I am pleased today to recognize marathon runners Dylan Wykes, Reid Coolsaet, and Eric Gillis, who were nominated to the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team.

As the largest single contributor to sport in this country, our Government is proud to support sport participation and excellence from playground to podium.

Canada is a top sporting nation, and I, along with all Canadians, recognize the hard work and dedication of our athletes as they train toward this prestigious milestone in their sporting careers.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, I heartily congratulate Dylan, Reid, and Eric. We look forward to joining millions of Canadians in cheering you and our other Olympic athletes on at the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games.
