Statement by the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), on the Announcement of Members of the 2012 Canadian Olympic Diving Team Français
OTTAWA, May 28, 2012 /CNW/ - I heartily congratulate Canadian divers Jennifer Abel, Meaghan Benfeito, Roseline Filion, Emilie Heymans, Alexandre Despatie, François Imbeau-Dulac, Riley McCormick, Reuben Ross and Eric Sehn, who have earned a spot on the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team.
These young athletes have been training hard, devoting time and energy in order to qualify for the highest level of sport competition at the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games. We look forward to being thrilled and inspired by their performances as they compete against the world's best.
The Harper Government is pleased to support Olympic sports and our Canadian Olympic athletes, who are an enormous source of pride for all Canadians. As the largest single contributor to sport in this country, we support sport participation and excellence from the playground to the podium.
