Statement by the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), on the Announcement of Team Canada for the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games Français
OTTAWA, May 18, 2012 /CNW/ - Yesterday, Special Olympics Canada announced the members of the Canadian team that will participate in the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. I would like to congratulate all of the athletes who will represent our country at this major competition.
Our Government is proud to work with Special Olympics Canada to support our athletes who are a source of pride and inspiration for all Canadians.
Close to 3,300 athletes from more than 100 countries will take part in the Special Olympics World Winter Games, from January 29 to February 5, 2013, and we look forward to cheering them on.
As Minister of State (Sport), I wish much success to all the Canadian athletes as they embark on the national training program in preparation for the Games. I would also like to thank the coaches and mission staff who support and encourage the athletes who will proudly represent our country.
