Statement by the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), on the Announcement of the 2019 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Host City Français
TORONTO, Oct. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada congratulates Lima, Peru, on winning the bid to be the host city of the 2019 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. We wish them all the best as they prepare for this major sporting event.
The winning city was chosen by delegates at the Pan American Sport Organization (PASO) General Assembly in Toronto. We were happy to welcome the Pan American sport community earlier this week as Canada moves one step closer to delivering exceptional games and celebrating together in Toronto in 2015.
I wish to thank PASO delegates for visiting Canada and contributing to the success of this event. We also recognize the other host city bid contenders on their efforts.
I encourage Canadians to learn more about the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games as we prepare to welcome the Americas to Toronto 2015.
