Statement by the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), on the Occasion of the Sherbrooke 2013 Canada Summer Games Closing Ceremonies Français
SHERBROOKE, QC, Aug. 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Throughout the Games, we have witnessed the accomplishments of our best young athletes from every province and territory. These talented young people gathered in the Sherbrooke region to compete in the Canada Summer Games. They will continue to excel, and many of them will go on to podium success on the international stage.
The Canada Games, this country's largest multisport event, provided an opportunity for some 3,400 athletes to participate in a wonderful experience and sharpen their competitive edge. Their passion for their sport has inspired Canadians of all ages to be more physically active and to strive for excellence.
As Minister of State (Sport), I would like to thank the Sherbrooke 2013 Canada Summer Games Host Society; the municipalities of Sherbrooke, Magog and Coaticook; the Province of Quebec; the Canada Games Council; and the many partners and volunteers who contributed to the success of this year's event. I would also like to join all Canadians in congratulating the participating athletes and their coaches on their outstanding performance.
Canada is proud of you. Bravo!
