Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of the 10th Anniversary of Culture Montréal

OTTAWA, Feb. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - In Canada, arts and culture are essential to our quality of life, the vitality of our communities, and the strength of our economy.

For the last 10 years, Culture Montréal has established Canada as a major international culture hub, and Montréal in particular as a key player among world cultural centres.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to thank Simon Brault, founding chair of Culture Montréal, for his leadership. I would also like to thank everyone who has worked so hard over the past 10 years so that Canadians and visitors from around the world can enjoy memorable cultural experiences.
