Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Passing of Suzanne Martel Français
OTTAWA, July 31, 2012 /CNW/ - It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Suzanne Martel.
Suzanne Martel published more than 20 works, which have entertained generations of Canadians. She was the recipient of more than a dozen literary prizes from across Canada, awarded with the Canada Council Children's Literature Award for Nos amis robot, in 1982, and the Governor-General's Literary Award for French-Language Children's Literature in 1994 for Une belle journée pour mourir.
On behalf of the Government of Canada, I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Suzanne Martel.
