Statement by the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of the 12th DiverCiné Festival Français
OTTAWA, March 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Film lovers in the National Capital Region are in for a treat once again this year with the return of the festival DiverCiné: World Cinema from La Francophonie.
Taking place March 7 to 16, 2014, at the ByTowne Cinema in Ottawa, this event showcases original works by filmmakers from Francophone countries around the world.
Launched in 2003, the annual festival demonstrates the depth of talent of filmmakers from the Canadian and international Francophonie. Our Government is an active member of the international Francophonie, and we are proud to partner once again with the Embassy of France in Canada to present the 12th DiverCiné festival.
It is a privilege for me to invite you to discover the diversity and creativity of Francophone films from here and many other countries. Enjoy the movies!
