Statement by the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of the Birth of a Baby Boy to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

OTTAWA, July 22, 2013 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada offers its warmest congratulations to the Royal Couple on the birth of their baby boy. The new Prince is third in line for the Throne of Canada.

Tonight, in celebration of the Royal birth, the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill will be lit up in blue.

We wish the baby—who will someday be Sovereign of Canada—and Their Royal Highnesses health and happiness, and we extend goodwill and support from all Canadians.

This happy occasion is an opportunity to reflect on the peace and stability that Canadians enjoy under our system of constitutional monarchy.
