Statement - CMA supports the federal government's travel advisory and push for social distancing Français
OTTAWA, March 13, 2020 /CNW/ - The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) supports new measures being introduced by Canada's Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, that advise against all non-essential international travel to limit the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, all measures which promote social distancing should be implemented to flatten the curve of exposure and spread.
The CMA remains in active discussion with the government and is here to lend support. We commend our public health officials for their leadership and hard work.
Since 1867, the Canadian Medical Association has been the national voice of Canada's medical profession. We work with physicians, residents and medical students on issues that matter to the profession and the health of Canadians. We advocate for policy and programs that drive meaningful change for physicians and their patients.
