Statement from Canada's Accredited Zoos and Aquariums on the change in management at Cherry Brook Zoo
OTTAWA, July 9, 2016 /CNW/ - Statement from Massimo Bergamini, Executive Director of Canada's Accredited Zoos and Aquariums on the news today of the departure of the long-time managers of Cherry Brook Zoo
"CAZA Associate Director Greg Tarry was in New Brunswick on other CAZA business today and he took the opportunity to visit the Zoo this morning.
He met with members of the Board of the Zoo and is satisfied that the situation is well in hand and that the animals are well cared for.
CAZA will monitor developments closely over the next weeks and months to ensure that the Zoo continues to operate in a manner that reflects CAZA standards of animal care, public safety and education.
We have offered our help to the Board as they transition to a new management structure and look forward to working with the outstanding group of volunteers and community supporters that are the backbone of Cherry Brook Zoo.
The Cherry Brook Zoo has been part of the fabric of Saint John for many years and will continue for many years more."
