TORONTO, Dec. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - "We are pleased by Councillor Vaughan's motion today, and are encouraged by the support it received from his colleagues on Toronto City Council.
"Since announcing the project in the fall of 2012 we have pursued both dialogue and input from neighbourhood stakeholders, city staff and local politicians. Today's Council decision is both an endorsement of our ongoing dedication to that consultative process and, a validation of many of the core elements critical to Mirvish + Gehry Toronto.
"We remain steadfastly committed to the Mirvish Gehry proposal that includes a new OCAD campus and a publicly accessible art gallery. The key objectives remain consistent with our original intentions to improve the public realm, while adding to Toronto's cultural corridor, and we remain both committed and supportive of the process proposed by Councillor Vaughan.
"Together with my associate, Peter Kofman of Projectcore Inc., we look forward to continuing the dialogue, and we are optimistic that the process will result in a project that will be wonderful for the city."
