Statement from Ontario's Chief Electoral Officer regarding the 2015 Provincial by-election in Simcoe North Français

TORONTO, Sept. 4, 2015 /CNW/ - Voting in the provincial by-election in the electoral district of Simcoe North concluded yesterday.  Over 732 poll officials worked to assist voters at the polls on September 3rd, 2015 and results were delivered for 8 candidates in the electoral district. 

Preliminary and unofficial results currently indicate that 40.88% of eligible voters in the electoral distrct of Simcoe North cast their ballot. By comparison, 53.3% of eligible voters during the 2014 General Election cast their ballot in the electoral district of Simcoe North. This includes those who voted at advance polls and in-person.

Official tabulation will be commencing at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 4th and will conclude the same day. As part of unofficial results, the number of declined, rejected and unmarked ballots will be available on the Elections Ontario website.
