Statement from Ontario's Chief Electoral Officer regarding the 2015 Provincial by-election in Sudbury Français
SUDBURY, ON, Feb. 6, 2015 /CNW/ - Voting in the provincial by-election in the electoral district of Sudbury concluded yesterday. Over 655 poll officials worked to assist voters at the polls on February 5th, 2015 and results were delivered for 10 candidates in the electoral district.
Preliminary and unofficial results currently indicate that 39.9% of eligible voters in the electoral distrct of Sudbury cast their ballot. By comparison, 51.9% of eligible voters during the 2014 General Election cast their ballot in the electoral district of Sudbury. This includes those who voted at advance polls and in-person.
Official tabulation will be commencing at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 6th and will conclude the same day. As part of unofficial results, the number of declined, rejected and unmarked ballots will be available on the Elections Ontario website.
