OTTAWA, July 15, 2013 /CNW/ - On behalf of the 78,000 physician members of the Canadian Medical Association, I would like to congratulate Rona Ambrose on her appointment as federal Minister of Health.
At a time when pressing budgetary concerns and an aging population are putting increasing pressures on our health care system, the health portfolio is more important than ever.
The CMA has a long history of working with its partners on behalf of Canadians to ensure the health care system responds to the needs of all Canadians when they need it, where they need it, regardless of ability to pay.
We look forward to working with Minister Ambrose in a collaborative effort, with other health care providers and levels of government, to ensure that Canadians have access to a high quality, accountable, sustainable health care system that provides good value for taxpayers' dollars.
