Statement from Visa: Skyservice Receivership
TORONTO, March 31 /CNW/ - Visa Inc. recommends travellers who used a Visa card to book travel plans that involved flights with Skyservice Airlines contact the financial institution that issued their card if they are unable to make arrangements to use their tickets as a result of Skyservice's decision to cease operations today.
Visa recommends that stranded passengers contact the tour operator with which they booked to facilitate travel back to Canada. Cardholders may be entitled to a refund if the services they purchased with their Visa card were not rendered and should contact the financial institution that issued their card as soon as possible to discuss their specific situation.
We want to reassure Visa cardholders that they should feel confident that they are protected when they use their Visa card to pay for goods and services. If a cardholder has approached the merchant regarding the service/product that has not been received, and has not received an appropriate response, they should contact their Visa card issuer who can work with them to help ensure they receive the appropriate compensation.
