Statement on the Passing of Rabbi Gunther Plaut
TORONTO, Feb. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - In response to news that Rabbi Gunther Plaut passed away yesterday evening, David Koschitzky, Chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, issued the following statement:
"We were saddened to hear of the passing of Rabbi Gunther Plaut, who served as a forceful advocate on behalf of the Jewish people for decades. Rabbi Plaut held a particularly preeminent place in Canada's Jewish community, for which his leadership will be missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Rabbi Plaut's family, friends, and colleagues."
