MONTREAL, July 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Société en commandite Stationnement de Montréal (SCSM), a leading player in the optimal management of on-street and off-street paid municipal parking, announced today the results of its 2012 financial statements.
Highlights:
- Total income of 61.7 million dollars (61.9 million dollars in 2011);
- A total of 44.4 million dollars paid to the City of Montréal (43.5 million dollars in 2011);
- Launch of the P$ Mobile Service app to the general public;
- P$ Mobile Service represented over 10 % of all payment transactions;
- Realization of objectives set in the 2012-2015 strategic plan;
- Preliminary analysis of dynamic pricing to offer on-street parking availability during peak hours.
"In 2012, our priorities consisted in identifying technological breakthroughs to enhance users' satisfaction and parking experience, as well as assessing opportunities for and the feasibility of expanding parking options in downtown's busiest sectors," explained Mr. Rémi Racine, Chairman of the Board at Accesum Inc., acting as general partner for SCSM.
Speaking of technologies, Mr. Racine proudly mentioned the launch of a brand new service designed to make motorists' lives easier, namely the P$ Mobile Service app, a remote payment solution enabling users to cover their on-street parking fees.
"Since its launch, payments made through P$ Mobile Service have represented nearly 18% of all credit card transactions (511,081 transactions made by 104,473 users as at December 31, 2012), explained Mr. Racine. I'm very pleased with this app's success, which mainly stems from its user-friendliness, simple and secure payment system, as well as its practical functions."
Lastly, Stationnement de Montréal analyzed several pricing adjustment scenarios for on-street parking, each based on supply and demand, as part of the strategic plan's implementation and with the purpose of offering users fair parking prices.
Stationnement de Montréal continues to fulfill its obligations toward the City of Montréal and the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal. Furthermore, its relationship with its partners has granted it an increasingly pivotal consulting role.
