Staying out of Harm's Way - La Capitale launches safety campaign for snowmobile and ATV riders Français
QUEBEC CITY, Jan. 6, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - On the eve of the snowmobile safety campaign beginning January 16, 2016, La Capitale General Insurance is continuing its campaign addressed to leisure vehicle enthusiasts, but targeting snowmobile and ATV riders. The recent mild temperatures, plus statistics from previous years, should cause enthusiasts to be extra cautious and check with their club to find out if it is safe to venture out on the trails in snowy regions and on the ice. La Capitale hopes to raise awareness among snowmobile and ATV riders so that they can avoid any unfortunate incidents, thereby reducing the number of deaths in Quebec.
The "Staying out of Harm's Way" safety campaign will be in full swing during the winter season, thanks to our partnership with YAMAHA MOTOR CANADA LTD. A series of public messages will be broadcast during every episode of Histoires de Sentier on RDS, AMS on TeleMag and Tout Terrain on TVA sports. Sports Motorisés, Quadnet and Planète Quad magazines and their websites are all supporting the campaign, and of course, the Communauté des motoneigistes Internautes du Québec (CMIQ) website: www.motoneigeauquebec.com. More than 1,000 posters will be distributed to all snowmobile and ATV clubs in Quebec.
Clear messages
The messages will be clear and cannot be repeated enough. Snowmobilers and ATV riders are encouraged to be responsible and be prepared: wear a helmet, don't speed, and watch out for others. One of La Capitale's key safety messages deals with alcohol consumption. Alcohol slows the reflexes and can cause loss of balance, vision problems and lack of coordination, all factors that can result in accidents that could end up being fatal.
"People need to be aware that their safety and the safety of others must be a constant priority if they want to avoid the worst! As a responsible corporate citizen, La Capitale is playing a leading role in prevention for leisure vehicle enthusiasts by being the only insurer to lead such a campaign," said Yves Watier, Senior Director of Business Development and Marketing of La Capitale General Insurance.
