Steelworkers Ratify Three-Year Collective Agreements With Cameco
PORT HOPE, ON, July 9 /CNW/ - Workers at the Cameco Corporation conversion facility in Port Hope have voted in favour of new, three-year collective agreements with the company.
The employees, members of United Steelworkers (USW) Locals 13173 and 8562, ratified new contract offers that will provide them with $2,000 signing bonuses and wage increases of two per cent in the contracts' second year and three per cent in the third year. The new deal also provides improvements to benefits and contract language.
Members of USW Local 13173 ratified the new contract by a 92-per-cent margin, while Local 8562 members voted 95 per cent in favour.
