ST. JOHN, NB, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - Today at 4:30pm the United Steelworkers (USW) reached a tentative agreement with Fortis Properties, Delta Brunswick Hotel and Brunswick Square.
The one hundred members of USW Local 1-306 have been on strike since August 28th. They work in many operations of the Delta Brunswick Hotel and Brunswick Square Complex.
The tentative agreement will be presented to the membership at meetings this evening and tomorrow. The USW bargaining committee will be recommending acceptance.
"We are very glad we have arrived at a tentative agreement that we feel good about taking to our members. It has been a very trying time for our members and their families. However, we are very proud of the determination shown by our members, and grateful for all the support we received from the community," said Lawrence McKay, USW Area Coordinator.
