Steelworkers, Walden Welding Inc. Reach Collective Agreement

SUDBURY, ON, Nov. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Members of United Steelworkers (USW) Local 2020 have reached a new collective agreement with Walden Welding Inc.

The USW represents 13 workers at Walden Welding, a certified and licensed custom fabrication and mechanical contracting company serving the private and industrial sectors.

The workers voted 68% to accept a three-year collective agreement that includes wage increases and benefit improvements. The union's bargaining committee had recommended acceptance of the agreement.

The previous collective agreement between the workers and the company expired on Nov. 7, 2012. An offer was presented by the company and accepted by union members on Nov. 20. The company and the union are very pleased with the outcome of the negotiations and the vote.
