Prior to his role at Alcatel-Lucent, he spent 16 years in roles of increasing responsibility at the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs, in Paris, France, where he notably became Co-CEO of the division in France in 2006 (then CEO in 2009), and then in 2011 co-CEO of Goldman Sachs' activities in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
