Striking CarePartners nurses and support staff to picket HNHB CCAC headquarters
HAMILTON, ON, May 19, 2015 /CNW/ - Striking CarePartners nurses and support staff will travel to Hamilton Tuesday to picket the headquarters of the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Community Care Access Centre.
Date: Tuesday, May 19, 2015
Time: 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Location: HNHB CCAC, 211 Pritchard Rd., Unit 1, Hamilton L8J 0G5
The HNHB CCAC contracts CarePartners to deliver home health care services to patients in the Niagara Region and Norfolk County.
Frustrated with the lack of progress towards a first contract with the employer, professional and support staff voted to strike beginning April 10.
The strikers are calling for parity between nurses who travel between clients and those who work in the clinic operated by CarePartners. They are also asking for an hourly wage (rather than a pay per visit rate), sick time, and health and safety language in their collective agreement.
