Axilz Inc., Technostrobe, Technical Rope & Rescue, GME Supply Co., FieldSENSE and Skyhook Tower Services join rapidly expanding membership base
OTTAWA, Dec. 12, 2018 /CNW/ - The Structure, Tower & Antenna Council (STAC) officially reached 100 members this month, capping off another year of rapid expansion and strong growth for the organization.
Axilz Inc., Technostrobe, Technical Rope & Rescue, GME Supply Co., FieldSENSE and Skyhook Tower Services are the most recent organizations to join STAC, bolstering a membership base that has been rapidly expanding in recent years.
"Reaching 100 members demonstrates the Canadian tower industry's ongoing commitment to ensuring communications antennas are constructed with the highest regard for worker safety," said Clay Parchewsky, STAC Co-Chair and Vice-President of Health, Safety and Environment at WesTower Communications. "We thank our existing members for their active participation in STAC and invite all non-members to consider joining us as we work to provide a unified voice for the industry."
STAC was formed in 2015 following a year-long collaborative effort by nine companies – three wireless telecommunications service providers, three engineering firms and three communications construction companies. The motivation for forming STAC was to develop an industry-wide forum to identify and promote safe work practices for all personnel involved with communications towers and related industry infrastructure. STAC members help to build and maintain Canada's world class wireless networks, while STAC helps its members operate safely and efficiently in this demanding marketplace by providing expertise and support in the areas of advocacy, information and guidelines, communications, events and education.
The most recent members also reflect the diversity of STAC's membership at large, which includes wireless carriers, broadcasters and other site owners, as well as tower contractors, tower engineers, safety trainers and telecom and safety equipment suppliers from coast-to-coast.
