TORONTO, May 19, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell Media announced today the appointment of Stuart Garvie as President, Bell Media Sales, effective June 8. A senior advertising executive with more than 18 years of global experience in the media industry, Garvie will assume the responsibilities of Mary Ann Turcke, who was recently appointed President of Bell Media. He will oversee the leadership and strategic direction of Bell Media's national advertising sales across all platforms, namely conventional and specialty TV, radio, out-of-home, and digital.

He brings his vast and rich experience to Bell Media Sales, working closely with Lesley Conway, Senior Vice-President, Bell Media Sales; Perry MacDonald, Senior Vice-President, CTV Sales; Patrick Jutras, Senior Vice-President, Bell Media Sales, Québec; Dean Rutherford, Vice-President, National Radio Sales; Lucy Collin, Vice-President, Marketing and Innovation, English Canada; and Nathalie Doré, Vice-President, Marketing and Innovation, Bell Media Sales, Québec.
Garvie will be based at Toronto's 50 Eglinton office and will be a member of Bell Media's Senior Leadership Team.
Before joining Bell Media, Stuart Garvie was the Chief Commercial Officer for GroupM Canada, a role in which he controlled and negotiated a $2 billion advertising budget across four of Canada's largest advertising agencies. Prior to this role, Garvie also held management positions in global media agencies.
Garvie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nottingham, which he acquired in 1994. He has also studied Negotiation and Leadership at Harvard Law School. In 2004, he was the co-author of an award-winning entry for the IPA Effectiveness Awards, the leading competition measuring effectiveness of advertising campaigns, led by the IPA, the trade association for U.K. advertising agencies.
