MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 1, 2019 /CNW/ - The newly redesigned 2019 Forester led the way for Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) to start the year, with the brand's quintessential sport utility posting its best January sales ever.
Behind that record-setting January for Forester, which saw its sales increase 14.9% compared to the same month last year, SCI sold 3,143 vehicles for the month — just 78 units shy of the all-time January record set in 2018. Both Impreza and BRZ also outpaced the previous January.
"Subaru is poised for another great year in 2019," said SCI president, chairman and CEO Yasushi Enami. "With an award-winning lineup, including an industry-leading seven Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), our brand is looking forward to achieving further success as more Canadians put Subaru on their shopping lists."
SCI's second-best January on record comes after a milestone year in which the brand set its seventh annual sales record in which it retailed 58,070 units.
