Subaru Canada Launches New 2016 Crosstrek

The Crosstrek is compact enough to handle congested metropolitan areas with ease yet gritty enough to adventure nearly anywhere with an impressive 220mm of ground clearance. Built in a zero-landfill facility, the Crosstrek has been engineered for maximum capability and minimal environmental impact, especially when considering the standard Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) engine equipment included on every Crosstrek.

The 2016 Crosstrek pricing remains an excellent value from $24,995, as the Crosstrek Hybrid also remains priced at $30,495. The value proposition is multiplied when considering the compact crossover comes standard with Subaru's legendary symmetrical full-time AWD, has been a perennial Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK+ when equipped with EyeSight, Subaru's advanced driver assist system. Combining efficiency with a bold five-door design and highly capable chassis, the sporty Crosstrek is a mainstay in the increasingly popular compact crossover segment. The exterior design of the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek has been enhanced with a new front and rear fascia, new headlight and taillight designs, and a new rendition of the iconic wheel design. All 2016 Subaru Crosstrek models are powered by a 148 horsepower 2.0-litre SUBARU BOXER engine with standard PZEV equipment that reduces smog-forming emissions to near zero for better environmental performance and to make the most out of every drop of fuel. The Crosstrek Hybrid uses the same engine, but adds an electric motor linked to a hybrid CVT transmission to take fuel efficiency to another level. Paired to a standard five-speed manual transmission or an available Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the versatile, fun-to-drive Crosstrek is one of the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive crossover utility vehicles in North America, delivering fuel economy figures of 9.1 L/100 km city and 7.0 L / 100 km highway (with CVT) and 7.9 L / 100 km city and 6.9 L / 100 km highway on the Hybrid model.

Inside, the Crosstrek hosts impressive cargo capacities and passenger space, outfitted with new contrasting orange stitching that lines the seats and door trim, as well as a new steering wheel design. The orange interior stitching is expanded on the Sport Package on the steering wheel, centre armrest and CVT shift knob, as well as on the leather seats and shift boot on Limited Package trim. The 2016 Crosstrek has an impressive maximum possible 1,470 L of cargo volume with the rear seats folded flat, and 632 L of space while capable of seating five people comfortably. The 7-inch infotainment system found on the Limited Package trim Crosstrek also adds Apple iPhone Siri compatibility, SiriusXM Advanced Audio Features, SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link (subscription required), and access to the SUBARU Map Update Program.
