MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 1, 2018 /CNW/ - The scorching hot sales pace continues for Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) after the brand posted its best October sales ever and its best-ever year-to-date sales.
With 5,500 units sold in October, the brand outpaced the same month last year — the previous record-holder for best October — by 11.1 per cent, or 549 units, setting yet another monthly sales record. The impressive sales tally also helped SCI easily set a new record for year-to-date sales, with the 49,077 units retailed through the first 10 months of 2018 representing a 6.9 per cent increase over the same stretch last year.
"2018 continues to be a big year for Subaru Canada in more ways than one," said SCI president, chairman and CEO Yasushi Enami. "With new additions to our lineup, including the all-new 2019 Ascent and completely redesigned 2019 Forester, more Canadians are choosing Subaru for its award-winning combination of durability, quality and reliability, in addition to its emphasis on safety."
The redesigned 2019 Forester led the way for SCI, with the brand's signature sport utility posting its best sales month ever with 1,688 units sold, an increase of 57 per cent compared to the same month last year. Not far behind was the Crosstrek compact SUV, which saw its best October sales ever with 1,294 units sold, a 2.2 per cent increase over the same month last year. Elsewhere, BRZ posted a 22.9 per cent sales increase over the same month last year.
Across the country, Ontario, Quebec and Western regions posted their best October results on record. Ontario finished with an impressive 15.7 per cent increased over last October, while the Western region wasn't far off with an increase of 13.8 per cent. Not to be outdone, Quebec was up 9.1 per cent versus the same month last year.
The 5,500 units sold in October represent a strong start to the fourth quarter of 2018 as SCI pursues its seventh straight annual sales record.
