TORONTO, April 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, the British Columbia government released details of its Informed Dining program and the addition of 21 new partners, including SUBWAY® Restaurants. The first program of its kind in Canada, Informed Dining will make it easy for customers to see nutritional values like caloric and sodium content at chain restaurants across the province.
"At SUBWAY® Canada, we know our customers are looking for a variety of flavourful and healthy food options and as a brand, are committed to providing the nutritional details of all of our products," said Kathleen Bell, director of national marketing, SUBWAY® Restaurants of Canada. "We're proud to partner with the Informed Dining program in British Columbia. We look forward to rolling out the program to all of our 2,800 locations across the country."
The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) said today that it is working with several provincial and territorial governments to make the Informed Dining program the national standard for providing restaurant-goers with nutrition information.
