The iconic Canadian brand is excited to announce the opening of its brand new flagship store in Toronto, July 5, 2016 on West Queen West (2 Abell Street across from The Drake Hotel). The 3-floor stand-alone multi-purpose space is a lifestyle shopping experience unlike anything the city has seen with a fully programmed events calendar featuring: workshops, screenings, rotating pop-ups, live music, experiential activations and a Crows Nest Barber Shop nook. The DGS designed space will take customers on a retail adventure as they peruse the carefully curated shelves and experience the re-launched brand for the first time.
Drake General Store X New Balance
This July & August 2016, New Balance is opening a limited-edition pop-up shop in the 300sq.ft mezzanine space at the new DGS flagship offering exclusive designs that are sure to seduce sneakerheads. Using New Balance's cutting-edge technology, the custom fabrics will utilize everything from mesh, suede and reflective textile to create rad styles ready for summer. The perfect blend of function and fashion, the limited release kicks offer top performance technology with the right style.
Drake General Store X New Flagship Mural
The art-centric West Queen West is getting more eye-candy with a 35ft mural on the East Facade of 2 Abell Street. In collaboration with J.P. Wiser's and local Toronto artists Ben Johnson + Trevor Wheatley, the new mural will play homage to Canada's cultural hubs. The two artistic talents will be painting live Tuesday, July 5th at the launch event – don't miss the show.
Drake General Store X Exclusive International Giftables
The Drake General Store's new collection includes DGS' in-house designed merchandise, limited edition collaborations, and international brands exclusive to DGS. Founders Carlo Colacci + Joyce Lo travel the globe to bring first to market products to DGS shelves and online shop including: Nordic gourmet brand Nicolas Vahé, Nordic organic skin care brand Meraki, and PUEBCO, the Japanese vintage industrial home producer. DGS is stocked-full of international treasures that can't be found anywhere else in Canada.
Drake General Store X Coffee + Sweet & Salty Treats
The new flagship DGS is also equipped with a mini-café so customers can sip 'n' shop. Celebrating the best coffee roasters across Canada, DGS' coffee bar will offer cold brew on tap + house-made Drake commissary sweet + salty treats as well as Drake pantry preserves, Death in Venice Gelato + Augie's ice pops. Toronto's own Willy Wonka, Brandon Olsen (CXBO), is also creating bespoke chocolates & confections for DGS to tantalize taste buds.
Drake General Store X Crows Nest Barber Shop
DGS' apothecary is the result of formulating, testing + re-testing fragrances, skin products, beard oils and more. To anchor DGS' growing section of bespoke lifestyle products, Crows Nest Barber Shop is installing a barber's nook to offer fades, shaves and cuts.
