Summer flights between Toronto and the Laurentians (Mont-Tremblant)

MONT-TREMBLANT, QC, April 7 /CNW/ - Porter Airlines is offering summer service to Mont-Tremblant and the Upper Laurentians for the first time, with two flights per week between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Mont-Tremblant International Airport (YTM). Service begins June 24, continuing to September 6, 2010, with flights on Thursday and Sunday each week.

This addition to Porter's existing program improves accessibility to Tremblant and the Laurentian region year-round.

"Airline transportation is part of our development and marketing strategy for this area and because of the experience we've gained over the past two years, we've scheduled the flights to respond to the needs of our clientele. The summer season in the Laurentians is beautiful and has a lot to offer to vacationers who are looking for a carefree vacation. The agreement between the Laurentians air tourism group Tourisme aérien Laurentides (TAL) and Porter makes our area more accessible to guests, and we have the destinations and tourist experiences to attract them," notes TAL president, Pierre Bertrand.

"Mont-Tremblant is now an internationally known tourist destination and a major attraction for travellers. The tourist industry in the immediate vicinity of Tremblant, and that of the Upper Laurentians, can take advantage of the resort's visibility with travellers from across Canada. We also have a marketing committee working exclusively on the promotion and positioning of the Toronto area, of our tourist products and of the airport," Mr. Bertrand adds.

Porter has provided winter seasonal service between Mont-Tremblant and Toronto since 2007. The announcement of summer service follows three successful winter seasons. This past season saw an increased winter schedule, with eight flights weekly, up from the two flights offered in the first year of service.
