Summitt Energy supports greater industry oversight

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Summitt Energy supports the Ministry of Consumer Services for taking action to ensure that  the competitive landscape of the hot water tank rental industry is maintained in Ontario, and taking steps to ensure that companies in the industry continue to offer customers the choice of their water heater supplier with fair and reasonable terms.

For three years, Summitt Energy has proudly provided customers with upgraded hot water tanks, which have increased efficiency resulting in customers saving money on their natural gas and/or electricity costs for heating their hot water tanks. Summitt Energy strives to ensure that our customers are well informed about who we are and what products we offer, including wearing branded clothing, offering customers their choice of installation date and time, providing well branded marketing materials and equipment, and requiring confirmation calls with our Customer Service department prior to scheduling installation appointments. Summitt Energy always enters into a mutually agreeable contract with our customers, with clear language regarding buy outs and purchase options.

Summitt Energy is of the opinion that greater oversight by the Ministry of Consumer Services is necessary to ensure that consumers can have the confidence in having water heater products that provide fair value to consumers. Summitt Energy feels that greater oversight by the Ministry of Consumer Services in the door-to-door sales space will improve the customer experience and overall opinion of industries that serve customers through direct sales.
